A sales pipeline that shows where every deal stands

Ask most owners how many quotations are waiting for a reply and the answer is a guess. The sales pipeline in Enkay CRM puts every open enquiry on one board, stage by stage, so you can see what is moving and what is stuck.

The problem: nobody knows what is stuck

An interior design studio in Indore has twenty-odd live enquiries at any time. Some are first calls. Some have had a site visit. Six have a quotation sitting with the customer. Two are haggling over the modular kitchen. The owner knows this roughly, from memory and WhatsApp chats, but cannot answer simple questions: how many quotations went out this month, how many site visits never turned into a quote, and why the last three flats went to someone else.

A sales pipeline answers those questions. It is a list of stages every deal passes through, and a board that shows how many deals sit at each one. When the Quotation column is full and Negotiation is empty, you know where the work is.

How the pipeline works in Enkay CRM

Stages that match how Indian small businesses sell

Every lead in Enkay CRM sits at one stage:

  1. New — the enquiry has arrived.
  2. Contacted — someone has spoken to them.
  3. Qualified — a real requirement and a realistic budget.
  4. Site visit — measuring, surveying, demonstrating.
  5. Quotation — a price has gone out.
  6. Negotiation — discussing price or scope.
  7. Won or Lost.

Each stage has a win probability: a ₹2 lakh deal at Negotiation is far likelier to close than the same deal at Contacted, and the stage makes that visible.

One board, one column per stage

The board view lays out a column for each stage with the leads in it. Move a lead forward with the advance button, or pick a stage from the stage menu. It is not drag-and-drop; the buttons are easier to hit on a phone during a site visit, which is where a lot of stage changes happen.

Lost deals ask for a reason

When you mark a lead Lost, Enkay CRM asks why. It feels like a small chore. Over a quarter it becomes the most useful report you have: if half your losses say “price” and they all happen after the Quotation stage, the problem is the quotation, not the salesperson. Our post on writing a quotation that gets accepted may help with that one.

Quotations move the pipeline along

When you send a GST quotation from a lead, the customer can open it on their phone and accept or decline online. Enkay CRM creates a follow-up task when they open it and when it is about to lapse. See quotations and invoices.

The dashboard shows the pipeline at a glance

The dashboard shows pipeline counts alongside new leads, follow-ups due and money figures. On the Business plan, reports show lead conversion stage by stage and why deals were lost. More on the reports page.

Who it is for

  • Trades with a site visit. CCTV, solar, interiors, AC installation: the Site visit stage exists because so much of this work is won or lost at the customer’s premises.
  • Businesses that quote. If you send prices and wait, the Quotation and Negotiation columns tell you how much money is waiting on a decision.
  • Owners with a small team. The board shows the whole business’s deals in one place, and each lead shows who owns it.
  • Anyone who wants to learn from losses rather than just feel bad about them.

What it does not do yet

  • No drag-and-drop. Use the advance button or the stage menu.
  • Stages are fixed. You cannot rename them or add your own. If a stage does not apply to a deal, advance past it.
  • One pipeline per business. There are no separate pipelines for different product lines.

If your sales process genuinely needs something different, Enkay Technologies also builds custom software.

A weekly pipeline review in fifteen minutes

The board is most useful when someone looks at it on a fixed day. A simple Monday review:

  1. Look at the New column. Anything more than a day old has not been called. Assign it or call it.
  2. Look at Quotation and Negotiation. These are the deals closest to money. Each one should have a follow-up date this week.
  3. Look for leads that have not moved in a month. Either they are alive and need a push, or they are lost and should be marked so, with a reason.
  4. Check the lost reasons once a month, not once a year.

Closing dead leads honestly is part of the job. A pipeline full of leads nobody will win makes the whole board less useful.

Which plan includes it

The pipeline board, stages, win probabilities and lost reasons are on the Free plan, for one user with unlimited leads.

The Business plan (₹499 a month or ₹4,990 a year, unlimited users) adds GST quotations that feed the pipeline, assignment across your team, and the reports that analyse it: lead conversion, win rate by source, team performance and why deals were lost. New signups get 90 days of Business features free. See pricing.

Frequently asked questions

What are the pipeline stages?

New, Contacted, Qualified, Site visit, Quotation, Negotiation, then Won or Lost. Each stage carries a win probability.

Can I drag leads between stages?

No. The board is not drag-and-drop. You move a lead with the stage menu or the advance button on the lead, which works well on a phone.

Why does Enkay CRM ask for a reason when a lead is lost?

So the losses add up to something useful. The Why deals were lost report shows the pattern — price, went with a competitor, no response — and tells you what to fix.

Can I rename or add pipeline stages?

The stages are fixed, and they are chosen to fit businesses that visit, quote and negotiate. If you skip a stage, such as Site visit, simply advance past it.

Is the pipeline on the Free plan?

Yes. The pipeline board and stages work on the Free plan. The reports that analyse it, such as lead conversion and why deals were lost, are on the Business plan.
